CRASC Takes Stand on School Funding
At the Executive Board Meeting last night, April 1, at Arlington Echo, the CRASC Executive Board voted unanimously to strongly oppose County Executive Leopold's request for a waiver to the state's Maintenance of Effort requirement.
The requirement ensures that even in times of economic downturn, localities fund their school systems adequately. County Executive Leopold has now requested a waiver from the Maryland State Department of Education to cut school funding by $7 million over last year's budget, leaving the county $9 million short of its funding requirement.
Nominations are now being accepted for 2009-2010 CRASC Officer Positions
Update:Nominations have now closed. Please attend our elections this Wednesday, April 8 at Severna Park High School.
Nominations for the 2009-2010 CRASC Officer positions will be accepted until Wednesday, April 1, 2009. See attachments for nomination form, election timeline, as well as, job descriptions and qualifications for each office.

February Connections & March Reports!
Attached is the February issue of Connections. If you haven't heard, I made cupcakes this month to give to one school who turned in their report for February's issue. Of all the schools that turned them in, I drew one name - Arundel High School happily accepted two dozen cupcakes, and I plan to do it again for March. Make sure your school isn't left out; submit your report to me via email at moya.shpuntoff@earthlink.net by Wednesday, March 4th!
Have a great month, CRASC, and I'll see you soon!
-Moya
